The Holy Spirit and False Teaching

The Role of The Holy Spirit in The Discernment of False Teaching

While only some believers have the special spiritual gift of discernment, all believers have the ability by "the Spirit of Truth" to detect a false gospel. This is not dependent on knowledge or intelligence; it is a basic "smell test" of anyone who has received the Holy Spirit. God has not promised us that He will tell us who to marry, what to do next, etc., although He may. But He has promised that He will always allow us to detect lies that would lead us astray. If we have really received the Holy Spirit, He will teach us which teachers are false and true, and this will be confirmed by others. Are we listening to the Spirit of Truth?
1 Jn 2:20-27 (NIV) But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. See that what you have heard in the beginning remains in you... I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in him.
John 16:13 (Phi) "Yet when that one I have spoken about comes--the Spirit of truth--he will guide you into everything that is true."
We must learn to feed ourselves and scrutinize all teaching if we are going to survive in the End of Days. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you see the evil motives before they overtake you. Give the Holy Spirit free course in your life, He (The Holy Spirit) will ALWAYS line up with the Word! If you see or hear something that is contrary to the LOGOS (The written Word) Don’t trust it! We get excited when we hear preacher talk about a “Rhema” word from God! Well if it is a true Rhema word it will not be contrary to the written Word of God! Pray and study saint of God THAT is your defense against the THIEF and the WOLF!
